Classmate Updates

    Info from Paul Kositzka:
I really hated missing this last reunion. I hope to make the next one. Looks like a lot of fun was had.

Moved to our retirement home in 2008, still consulting for the firm...being a CPA, location doesn't matter much with the level of technology today. Hope to be "fired" soon.

We have three children, 12 grandchildren from 22 to 3. With a boat, pool and beach we see a lot of our family (clever planning). Marie is big into quilting (I hang with a group of quilt widowers.) Besides tax law, I still enjoy woodworking, boating, fishing and lots of reading.

    My best to all.
    From Marcia Lipschitz Peters:
I was hoping to write after the fact, but that's okay.

At 69, divorced and living alone for 25 years, I am remarrying. My man, 63, is a no-longer practicing patent attorney, working his own patents, and utilizing his seat in the commodities market dealing with precious coins and foreign currencies. He's moving from L.A. to Houston and we plan to be married this month.

My fiance' put himself through law school by writing comedy for Shecky Greene after they met sitting on a plane together. He is kind, nurturing, supportive and makes me feel like a queen. He makes me laugh daily, to the point that I'm begging him to stop because my cheeks and sides hurt.

We are praying for many happy years together in good health.

Regards to you and all on the committee,

    Marcia

Great News, Marcia! Congratulations and we wish you every happiness!!

    An update from Mike Mancuso:
I have 3 grandchildren from my daughter Deena. Samantha 12, Tyler 9 & Logan 6 & from my 11 year friendship with Donna I am substitute granddad to her daughter Leighann's two boys Connor 3 & Jackson 4 months. I consider myself very blessed. On another note have you noticed how names have changed. Where did the Mike's, Don's, Dennis's, Bills, Warrens, Jim's, Robert's, Linda's, Donna's, Kathy's, Susann's, Pam's, Gloria's, Gail's & Judy's go. Just think what the names might be when our grandchildren are grown. Fuscia, Atoma, Solar, Galaxy, Stargel, Unaail, Plantasia or maybe Primus. Anyway aren't we blessed, today, to have wonderful and loving grandchildren.

Wishing you all the very best of what life has to offer you and stay healthy. See you in 5.

    An email from Charlie McHugh:
...I managed to avoid all pictures based on a search of the year books. The attached pictures will show what i've been doing for the past 13 years, traveling and volunteering to 48 states and DC.(See Website for pictures) It's hard to believe that we are pushing 70. I'm surprised that Tools is still there. If I'm in the area I'll stop in for lunch. It appears that I am about to become a NY resident again instead of SD and TX, so it is possible.

I only recognize about a dozen or so names in the class list of 61 and about half that from the class of 60.

We will probably get a stick house with room for my tools, my wife's quilting and my computers. We actually have all that in the RV, but we couldn't leave it set up. The RV weights 22,500 lbs and the truck weights 13,000 lbs so we have room for the toys. We will still travel but in a smaller unit. We have friends that are still traveling and volunteering that are 80+.

    From Jennie McNab Piazza
    Hi to everyone!
Just wanted to thank Gail Patterson for the beautiful collage of photos from our 25th reunion!! So many of our loved ones have passed away - so GOOD to see them with us! Warms my heart. Life goes on, but, it's tough!!

    Jennie

An email from Karin Moe Wiltsey:
Thank you and your BCHS classmates for continuing to keep those of us who don't get back to Delmar/Elsmere connected...

...I generally hear from a couple people at Christmas. Dale Cross Cole and sometimes Judy Jernigan Klink. And of course, my sister in law, Sharon Wiltsey Bellew. Amazingly I am still good friends with a gal I went to grade school with in Canada. Last year I went back to my Canadian home town and had lunch with 6 gals I knew from childhood. I'd seen one of them often, but hadn't seen the others in 56 years! We had a wonderful time. Many of them are still living within 50 miles of where we grew up so they were very interested in what I remembered. I'm so sorry I missed our 50th reunion. Our special needs son was having surgery for stomach cancer and I just couldn't leave him. I'm happy to say he has recovered well and we think he is free of cancer. His latest scans looked good.

    Blessings,

    From Joyce Whitbeck:
I so enjoyed all the news. I broke my leg last Wed. evening (April 11) walking my two Shelties. Had surgery to implant plates and screws into 3 bones in my left ankle. Home now hobbling with a walker. I so identify with the handicapped! Off work for at least a week and already getting bored!!!
    ...A July 4th Update:
Good news -- boot cast came off last week and I'm walking without the walker. Have therapy couple times a week for another month. Great to be able to manage the stairs at work normally without going up backwards on my butt!!!
    ...have a great summer everyone!

    Joyce

        Volunteer Corner

This is the time in our lives that many of us have retired, but continue to contribute to those around us by volunteering. We would like to recognize those who have, by sharing some of their experiences with fellow classmates. Larry Scarborough was one of the many volunteers that helped organize a Guinness World Record Hokey Pokey on the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park, the world's longest elevated pedestrian bridge, stretching 1.28 miles between Poughkeepsie and Highland, N.Y. Larry has been a volunteer at the Walkway for several years and when not organizing record breaking Hokey Pokeys, he is a tour guide. Read more Here >>> and a YouTube video Here >>>
